Project Description
KinectServer is project to provide data from the Microsoft Kinect over network. In its first iteration it uses the official Microsoft Kinect SDK, TCP and C# and it operates as a server.

Project Details

The Microsoft Kinect SDK provides 30 fps of data about all people who move in front of a Kinect device. However, it is desirable for that data to be used by other programs, either on the same PC or on another computer.

The first release of KinectServer provides basic functionality of sending the data over TCP. In the future, we should be able to access the server settings through a web interface, provide different types of streams such as TCP, UDP, UDP multicast, RDP, etc., and perhaps even stream the depth and color video over the network.

This first release runs at full skeleton frame rate on a 3.16 GHz Core 2 Duo. The server uses around 45% of the CPU. Your mileage may vary.
